Much
of the green space you see within the City limits is cared for
by the City of Moab and preserved as public parks. There are 35
acres of developed parks in Moab and 12 acres of non-designated "open
space."
Two of Moab's three parks can be rented for weddings, celebrations, private parties,
musical events, sporting events or other activities.
Old City Park is south of town
in Spanish Valley. A favorite site for weddings, Old City Park is 21 acres.
It offers an elevated, covered stage in the form of a large gazebo, a duck
pond, covered shelter-house, picnic tables and two large barbecue grills.
Old City Park - Use Policies:
- Reservations made with the Public Works Dept. 259-7485
- Amplified events require City Council approval
- Wednesday's are mow day's - reservations after 3:00 p.m. only.
- Fee paid in advance to the City Treasurer's office to reserve park
- Reservations include only covered pavilion to stage area.
- Garbage should be picked up and put in City approved containers (Located
by pavilion).
- An additional fee will be charged to have power to the stage
- All Children / adults must be kept out of the duck pond area
- No pets are allowed
- Reservations include use from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Cancellation/Refund policy applies
- Alcohol is prohibited in all City Parks
Rotary Park, a 3-acre sanctuary, is
located on Mill Creek Drive and offers a quiet shady, quiet refuge from the
desert sun. It is equipped with a children's playground , a covered shelter
house with picnic tables, barbecue grills, and public restroom. A native hummingbird
garden and a tree house gazebo complements the grounds. Rotary Park connects
with the Mill Creek Parkway trail system. Located at 680 Millcreek Drive.

Swanny City Park, located
in downtown Moab at 400 North and 100 West, is a 7-acre park with a large playground,
two barbecue grills, covered picnic tables, a covered gazebo, lots of wide
open green space and big, old shade trees. The park is named for former Moab
resident Swanny Kirby who originally owned the land. In earlier years, before
being acquired by the City, the park was used as a rodeo ground and fairground.
Swanny City Park is the location of Moab's Swimming Pool and newly constructed
Skate Park. There is also a rose garden, public restrooms, and drinking fountains.
Swanny City Park cannot be rented for private events.
Swanny City Park - Use Policies:
- Not a reservation park
- Permission to use pavilion and area immediately surrounding it granted
by Special Event License only
- Groups of more than 300 require a Special Event License ¨ Reservations
include use from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Garbage should be picked up and put in containers
- Damage deposit required
- Damage deposit will be refunded in increments at the discretion of the
Moab City Parks Superintendent.
- Cancellation/Refund policy applies
- Mow days are Tuesday - all day
- Alcohol is prohibited in all City Parks
